About the Client
The client is DermPRO, the aesthetics industry’s leading managed e-commerce and patient-engagement platform. For over a decade, DermPRO has helped dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medical spas grow their practices through HIPAA-compliant online stores, marketing, and analytics built specifically for the aesthetics market.
DermPRO came to SCIMUS to build a new product for its customers: QuotePro, a tool that would let practices create and deliver treatment quotes in an entirely new way. The goal was to replace a slow, manual, and largely invisible quoting process with a modern, patient-facing experience — one that practices could sell as part of the DermPRO platform, and that would measurably increase how many consultations turned into booked, paid treatments.


When the Quote Walks Out the Door
- For most aesthetics practices, the quote was where momentum quietly died. A patient would finish a consultation genuinely interested in a treatment, receive a price written out on paper, and say the familiar thing: “Let me think about it,” or “Let me talk to my partner.” Then they would leave — and the practice would lose all visibility. There was no way to know whether the patient ever reread the quote, whether they shared it at home, or whether the paper simply ended up in a drawer.
- What followed was guesswork. Staff chased patients with manual follow-up calls, never sure who was still interested and who had moved on. High-value procedures slipped away not because patients said no, but because nothing connected the moment of interest to an easy way to act on it. For a practice issuing many quotes, the cumulative lost revenue was significant — and entirely invisible.
- Key challenges included:
- 1. Quotes disappeared on paper. Handwritten or printed quotes left the building with the patient and could not be tracked, updated, or revisited in any meaningful way.
- 2. No visibility after the consultation. Practices had no idea whether a patient reopened a quote, considered it seriously, or lost interest — leaving follow-up to blind guesswork.
- 3. Slow, manual quoting. Building quotes by hand limited how many a practice could produce and made consistency and professional presentation difficult.
- 4. Friction between interest and purchase. A patient ready to commit at home had no simple way to act — no way to pay, split payment, or apply loyalty rewards without returning to the practice.
- 5. Follow-up that didn’t scale. Manual calls and reminders consumed staff time and still missed opportunities, with no system to prioritize the patients most likely to convert.
